St Kilda East - Frankston - St Kilda East:
The forecast was for a downpour in the morning so I didn't bother to set an alarm, but once again it didn't precipitate, and once again that lead me to riding during a hotter time of day than normal.

The northerly was bearable on the way south, pushing me along solo until Jeremy Cameron caught me around Beaumaris, then it pushed the pair of us two up to Frankston. Jem went on to Two Bays, I turned around and started the slow, grinding slog back into the teeth of the furnace like wind. I worked turns with a guy from Telstra until a bunch of trithletes rolled through, punching a lower, smaller, but most importantly faster hole in the air. I jumped on them, pulling through once or twice when they began to tire, but mostly kept out of their way. Drop bars and road brakes don't mix with extensions and TT brakes.
