Ricktastic Tuesday:
So much for introducing speed back to 1 hill per week, there was some solid schnell on all the hills this morning.

Once again I wasn't feeling peppy, so as Rick and I rolled up Doncaster Rd then High St on the front, I made assumptions about why my front wheel occasionally fell behind the line of Ricks. It wasn't until I took a moment to change gears that I realised Rick was possibly consciously driving it. My wheel fell back slightly as the chain shifted rings, and Rick seemed to take note, then the tension in his body and legs visibly increased."Right, so we're being jerks today!"

A similar display of fitness occurred on Foote St and Roseihill Rd, all the while I knew Warrack felt obliged to return last week's lead out up Pony Club. As we rolled along Banyule Rd, I tried a couple of times to tell him I wanted no part of it, but slowly the pace ramped up as we approached the single lane bridge. Warrack and Tom pushing the air in front of me, visibly setting themselves to give it a nudge and my sense of pride and/or competitiveness kept me on the wheel. Tom wavered on the false flat middle, leaving me to cover the slight gap to Warrack, who then developed a speed wobble in his right elbow moments before the final left hander. The next 20 or so seconds sucked, and the whole thing has left me shattered well into the working day, but I'm happy to have a 5 second pb, and be a second clear of Stalder (Warrack's time from last week is still safe as houses).

Shit that's a lot of words about a (sub) 2 minute climb. LOLs, you put more words towards what you find important/meaningful I guess, and ripping the big ring up that climb on a Tuesday morning just feels right to me.
