Now that it's done, 23 minutes doesn't seem/feel that long, but when I woke up at 5:30 to go for a run, I wasn't super keen/motivated/happy about it. I'm not sure if it was the physical or mental challenge that worried me more... maybe it was equal measures of both.

I'd hoped to get a full 5km done and to sneak in under (faster than) 5min pace, but given the lassitude I felt before it, I'm happy to have it done. The next challenge is to start loosening off these calves before the next run on Wednesday, but more importantly the 24 hours of plane time that starts on Friday night. My fear of tight twitchy legs in a cramped space is far greater than my discomfort at the idea of running 5km.
