St Kilda East - Anderson St Reps - St Kilda East:
Rolling down Chapel I got to thinking about how I treat these 45 second efforts as races. I got to wondering if doing so was a good or bad choice in terms of making me as fast as I can be.

The positive of it is it drives me harder to perform, and push my limits.

The flip side is that if I'm "winning" I may end up pacing my effort on the other rider, holding back, ensuring I have something for the next one. It can also be hard to push through when you're obviously beaten.

This last point, the obviously beaten, was to be the theme for much of today. After the first two reps, DK was plain old monstering the efforts, and me. I found it hard to keep pushing through the last 15 seconds of the effort, and mentally I was in a dark place.

The last few reps, when I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, I found an extra 100-200W in those last few seconds.
