6am NRR:
I'll admit that I spent a fair chunk of time in witness the fitness protection program (in the bunch). I feel it was necessary though, as DK, Jeremy Cameron, Boomtime, and Jono Cantwell were doing bad things to the bunch.

The first time I rolled to the front, figuring I'd chop out DK who'd been doing a grip of work, Jeremy came over the top of me hot, and had me barely clinging to his wheel. Lesson learnt!

I did play on the Black Rock - Sandi hill, and for the first time in a few weeks I split the bunch. There was one guy clinging desperately to my wheel, then a gap, then DK making an unhappy face with one or two on his wheel, then a gap, and then finally what was left of the bunch. Even with all those gaps, I barely managed to get onto the last wheel.

I felt good through the golden mile, but the wind up for the sprint started early, and it was full noise. holding high 50s along Ormond Esplanade, and stretching my legs. I think part of my issue there was I wasn't holding wheels cleanly, and thus wasting a few Watts. Whatever it was, the coffee afterwards was bloody delicious!
