Hell Ride:
Sitting around Black Rock, drinking three quarters of a flat white, I came up with a theory. All the pros would either be at TdU racing, or would have gone back to their European homes/training camps. Most of the club riders would be at TdU racking up a big week on the bike, and the punters would be scared away by the ripping south westerly. Yep, it was going to be a small bunch, and the pace wouldn't be too hot.

Then I walked out of the cafe just as Hendo rolled up. Hendo was not playing nicely, and for most of the trip down there was some solid gutter time for yours truly.

I enjoyed the hills, it was a chance to get a better sit, sheltered from wind by the hills themselves , and with some of the bunch fodder filtered by the elevation gains, it was just cleaner. I tried to go with Hendo up to Canadian, but the dude just cruised past everyone, much like he had been doing all morning. Me? I got an extra couple of riders up the bunch and pushed myself back into the shelter.

Anyway, the ride itself wasn't terribly interesting, I didn't contribute anything special. What I did do was think about pedalling. I feel that I'm not pedalling quite as smooth as I should be. I feel this inefficiency is worth a few of my missing watts and explains some of the elevated HR and tired legs. I've been a masher.
