Compounding the feelings of impending doom is the stress of loose ends. The big piece of fabric, blowing in the cross winds near Lismore, and threatening to tear the whole garment apart, is my lack of a dedicated feeder for the race.

Last night it got a bit much, i found myself napping on the couch by 7:30pm, and then this morning I turned off my 5:30 alarm and napped through to 7:30am.

This feels like far more stress than last year. I suppose because my goals have shifted up and I've put more time into preparing. In other words, I've got more skin in the game (literally too at 3kg heavier than last year). Last year we got dagged at Camperdown, but my aim had been to get to that point. This year I'd like to see the finish of the race. The real race, not the sprint for 67th.

To get to that final kick, I'm going to need to refuel along the way, and not having a dedicated person, in their own car is an element that could bring it all crashing down. I've had a missed feed, even with a dedicated feeder, every time I've done this race. So... what'll happen without one?!
