St Kilda East - Mt Eliza - St Kilda East:
I love how a random encounter, or a tiny little detail, can make the difference some days.

I wasn't too eager to ride today, I wanted 100km at a not too hard pace, but my limited efforts yielded no companions and then I woke to the sound of rain. After a little snooze action, I got out of bed, got on my bike and rolled out. It wasn't long that my plans of going to Mornington started to feel ambitious and going to Mordialloc sounded great.

It was around then, as I rolled along Ormond Esplanade, that a dude named Al, clad in Fitzroy Revolution bibs, rolled past me, then slowed and came for a chat. We chatted two up on near empty roads and before I knew it, we were rolling into Frankston. A loop around Mt Eliza for the fun of it, then we turned for home.

It rained a bit on the way home, but it wasn't cold, in fact it was a pretty enjoyable ride. Don't get me wrong, I was glad to get a a shower coffee into me and a little nap, but they were bonus, not necessity.
