DDCX Prologue:
All day I was pretty excited about racing again, then as the start time drew closer I the excitement transformed into nervousness.

I had a fairly strong bunch for my racing which relegated me to the second row for the first race. The David Morgan went off and I half forgot to pin it for the first corner and found myself getting chopped left and right. When the brain finally switched into race mode I was mid pack in the middle of a bunch of tight turns with limited passing opportunities. When it finally got to the velodrome my left eye was twitching from the desire to overtake. I finished that race somewhere around 7th or 8th, slightly disappointing, especially disappointing that I only have myself to blame.

The second race was a handicap that started in reverse order waves. I hole shot my little group and set about tracking down everything that moved. I didn't quite manage that, and was beaten round the velo when I was passed perfectly off the grass and onto the concrete bank. I swung wide to try and hold some extra speed, but ended up washing it off instead, and rolled home in 4th... ish.

I cant wait for some more open courses so I can open up the legs and pass some little guys.

A quick trip to the shop resulted in my road bike getting my old Shimano 7800 cranks installed while the power meter gets sent back for a bit of broken gauge love. I'm hoping I'll survive a week or so without cadence and power information, it might be a struggle.
