Yarra Trails:
I took a slight sleep in, skipping the normal cx shenanigans, and instead headed to the same trails on my mountain bike get just a little bit looser and a little bit more airborne that normal.

Ccompared to the tall skinny knobs, the mountain bike feels like a monster truck that just ploughs through everything with ease. That ease meant I often felt further from the ragged edge. The point of traction (or lack of) where the side knobs are scrabbling on the dirt, the body wants to tense up and the inside foot wants to come out of the pedal. That's the point where cheeks ache from grinning.
