With the fluids from my bum graze no longer soaking through my dressings and jeans, it was time to head back to the office to work. I considered PT but opted instead for the 700x28c tyres of my commuter. The ride to work left me feeling bouyed, the ride from home deflated me.

On the trip in, I have to go up a slight rise to the west end of the city where the office is, it's barely a blip on the map, but it is best ridden out of the saddle. So that's what I did, I got out of the saddle and gave the legs a little push. It felt good. Even though it was pretty low speed, it gave me the same sense of joy ripping out a massive leadout does. It made me feel alive. It's an intoxicating feeling.

In contrast the way home had no fast moments, but I felt my dressings stretch and come away. In those few brief moments I went from "NRR tomorrow!" to "No riding any more!". I hope time and a redo of some of it will temper the latest statement.
