Bay Crits - Ritchie Boulevard:
After heading to the city last night with a bottle of wine to watch the midnight fireworks, sleep was not too awesome, my only hope was that everyone else I was racing... including the track world champions, were in a similar boat.

The course was effectively a hot dog, either end of the 2 straights featured a pair of turns, close enough together that at best I could squeeze in a single pedal stroke before it was right crank down time.

I started near the back, and after 59 efforts over 1,000W, that's where I was at the half hour mark when I could kick no more. I'd been riding half a dozen laps at 6-7 beats over threshold leading into it, and after seeing a normalised power of 491W and all those power peaks... I don't feel like I weaked out. Well... I am a bit disappointed. Better positioning could have helped reduce the load, but organising that wasn't so easy. I wasn't happy to make diving moves under brakes and there were limited opportunities on the straights as all I could do was suck air.
