6am NRR:
This week the plan is NRR Tues, Wed, Thurs, working turns for as long as I can on the return leg.

I kept myself towards the front of the bunch on the southward leg, to ensure I was with the faster guys in the case of any splits caused by lights, then straight after the roundabout I slotted myself into the front and rolled turns.

It sounds simple enough, but when the likes of Leaper, Kelly and Forbes are keeping you company in the working group, it's a lesson in suffering. I made it to the left hand sweep of Mentone before my screaming legs called a stop to proceedings. They only partially got their wish, I had a km or two where I was dangling an metre or two behind the wheels of the working group, pushing more air than my legs told me I had any right (or ability) to push.

It wasn't until the roll through Brighton proper that I returned to fore and pulled another turn, and there was no chance of playing in the sprint, I was toast!

I was able to feel a little happy about the outing, Dave Kelly's top tube was covered in sweat as we rolled past Luna Park, a sign he hadn't found it easy either.... though I should point out he worked the entire ride, rather than the measly few kms I managed.
