Hell Ride: (sort of)
It's hard to leave the house when it's already raining, it's even harder to keep riding when it's cold, dark and you're alone (on top of the wet), this is pretty much a description of what I faced to get some training in this morning.

I had to be back early because I'm moving house (again! also if anyone is or knows someone who's after a room to rent, get in contact with me, I have a room to rent), so opted for the Hell Ride. I barely made it past Brighton, the only thing that kept me heading south to the meet point was someone was riding past when I went to throw a u-bolt. I didn't have the energy to kill them and having a living witness to my shame was not an option.

The meet up was populated with strong, hard legs. Big NRS guys who don't mind a bit of smacking it in a crossy all day. I started in the bunch assessing if I was capable of rolling with them, then when I was confident moved up and started to pull through. That is, right up until my back tyre went soggy around Chelsea. The resulting time it took to swap in a new tube and pump it up meant I did Olivers Hill solo and turned straight after to catch the return of the bunch.

I'm sad about that, I really wanted the extra few km to make it 100km today, but most of all I wanted to play on the hills against these sorts of riders. They're the fitter equivalent of me, and it's nice to know just where I stand.

I've also just moved house. I also have a spare room to rent out. There, my similarities to Neil end.
