6am NRR:
I woke a minute or two before my alarm which meant I got out of home a couple of minutes early, leaving me plenty of time (as opposed to the usual 2 minutes late scenario) to roll a nice easy pace down to the start of the ride. I think this lack of early effort was the root cause of my legs feeling like utter arse when the bunch started to ramp up the pace.

As the ride went on things started to feel more normal, my cadence came up and I stopped fearing I'd get nothing out of the ride.

I lead the sprint from Glenhuntly, dropping off a few intrepid travellers at 54km/h with 100-150m to go to finish and the mad dash to the line. Not my best efforts ever, but due to lights it was a slow speed start.
