Hell Ride:
There were a few priorities today, to get some kms in, to leave something in the legs for tomorrow and finally to get home early so I could go to Ikea. Yeah, I wondered if I should go full disclosure on that last one. Anyway to me the obvious choice to achieve these things was to roll the Hell Ride.

I took a dirty great big sit on the way down, having a chat to a few dudes and generally enjoying the tow offered by a big bunch.

Up Olivers I skipped through the slowing riders and found myself just off the tail of a strong group of riders with a further few more up the road from them. I put in a strong turn to pull myself and an Evolutions Cycles guy up and past the main group and into the gap to the leaders. Between us we bridged back up to the guys off the front, I was shocked to find I'd just dragged back two of the Walker brothers (Johnny and Will).

Feeling strong, confident, and a little desirous of a return to the warmth of home I worked turns from Frankston back through to Mordi, I thought the rest I got between there and Blackrock would be enough to freshen my legs for the sprint, but I was proven wrong when it came time to go.
