It's widely accepted that a bad day on the bike beats a good day in the office, and while I think this is an unfair generalisation to those who hold the vocation of ice cream quality control testing officer, I'm going to hold it to be true and instead concentrate on an extension of this notion.

So there I was this morning, rolling along the bike lane on St Kilda road, my shoes slowly filling with water deflected by my down tube, beside me were near stationary cars with single occupants, mobile trams packed tighter than a saddle bag, and I wondered. I wondered where the point that the personal space and consistency of travel time offered by my choice of transport was outweighed by the wetness of my socks, and thus catching PT was the better option. In short, does a bad commute by bike beat always a good commute by PT? Yeah pretty much.
