NRR Long:
Today's edition of NRR long hurt. It hurt a lot.

The hills weren't the problem, they were the regular pain of lighter/faster guys tearing my legs off, but this week I managed to stay in contact until the first kick of Canadian, then bridge from the 2nd chase bunch to the 1st on the final pinch at the top. Two Bays hurt, but I had rabbits in front of me to chase, so I can manage that.

No, what really put me in the box...

Artists impression of me being in the box.

...was the trip home. It started off good, I rolled a few turns, then for a bit I sat comfortably behind the working group calling through riders. The comfort disappeared on the lead into and out of Mordi. Things got strung out and I wasnt the only one not to cope well.

It'd be easy to say it was the headwind, but there was someone, or several someones, on the front doing the pace making. Back where I was, 20ish riders deep, it was surgey and evil. Around Brighton I looked at the 1m gap that had formed, a gap I had covered time and time again, and I said to myself "nope". Thankfully there were a couple of others behind me and with a lull in the pace on the front, and the moments it took for them to come around me, I recovered enough to latch on.
