Prahran - St Andrews - Prahran:
Out with Mark, Lee and Will of the StayTrue team, for a journey through the punchy climbs of the Mount Pleasant and Patton hills area. We were joined by a heap of other guys who went a different route half way through.

Things were going well for me until that halfway point, Will and Mark had been playing up the road, but that's to be expected. Then, after coming back over Pidgeon Bank Rd, dragging a 44t chainring up the 24% section, I found the bottom of my energy reserves.

Rolling backup up Research-Warrandyte Road to the end of Mt Pleasant Rd I sucked back my emergency gel as the first not so subtle twinges of quad cramps arrived. For Mt Pleasant Rd itself my legs were reporting zero power and cramps threatened any time I tried to test that statement.

Welcome back to endurance riding Neil, have a bonk.
