6am NRR:
Just like yesterday my aim was to get a roll in with a solid high speed effort in the final sprint.

Coming home through Brighton Beach I felt like I had a good position in the bunch. Enough riders in front to get me through to the end without seeing the wind myself.

Through Brighton proper Skinny Luke held the pace high with one of the Artisan boys, when Ray soft pedalled and gave them a gap I found myself as the next bloke in line. I went hard across to their wheels, possibly solo... and then we got caught at lights.

So off the lights near the sports fields in Elwood, Skinny went hard with me firmly glued to his wheel. If he could hold this pace for another km or so things would be fucking peachy.

When he died, I went hard, praying for someone to come through. As I got towards Glen Huntly Rd I took a quick peek under my arm... I was solo. Then the lights there turned red and my legs decided that was game over. I cajoled them into going again when the lights changed but the main bunch came roaring through and that turned off the lights in my legs again.

Over coffee Ray said he thought I was flying at the moment. I will admit, this made me feel bloody good. Ray's won Glenvale the last two weeks in a row. He sits out from the bunch on NRR, using the rest of us to pace himself in the wind. I respect his ability and having him compliment mine... well, it makes some of the hard work I've been doing recently feel worth while/

Commute:
I took a bit of a detour home, spinning my legs along the foreshore in the late afternoon warmth.

A nice way to finish off the day.
