NRR: (Church group)
The image of 40 blokes riding through the early morning drizzle was reminiscent of a black and white New York scene, muted colours and stark contrasts.

I turned at the Church (for the first time) and bar 60 seconds through Mentone, rolled turns the whole way. The pace was solid, a group of 3-8 always rolling through, including Tom Leaper and a few O2 boys. One of them, Craig, turned to me at one point and remarked I was riding strong, I didnt feel it at the time, my legs were on fire, so I relayed my experience at the Vic Nats. It was met with laughter and a derisive comment.

"What did you expect?".

Craig may never know, but that comment did more for my confidence than anything I could do myself. He's a strong guy, racing well in club level a-grade, and to know he would expect the same result himself was reassuring.
