I wanted to save more of my energy for the hills around Frankston/Mt Eliza, to gauge my form a bit better than last time.

Being closer to the front, what I now realise is that there is a shortcut to Mt Eliza somewhere along the way, and thus many of the large group I saw there previously may not have done the full route. That made me feel somewhat better about it.

I still wasn't as quick/competitive as I'd hope (some would suggest I'm overly competitive). Some of it will have been the hard weekend/Monday, some will be additional body weight, I'll keep at it and see how things progress.
