I'm struggling to think of what to say about tonight, not because it had nothing or meant nothing, but mostly because I'm pretty shagged.

We went outwards, ducking into Bruce's loop for the first time in months. A lot has changed but there's promise that it could flow cleanly again with a bit more time and maybe some more work.

I developed an odd sense of pride about riding Hans' loop. I have to be the fastest around it, (Alex hasn't been along for a while, but one day I'll beat him anyway). It seems like a negative thing, but I've grown to love it. It gives me a reason to bury myself, this time it was to stay in front of Erin Baxter and Richard. I succeeded, but Richard managed to close the gap towards the end of the loop which kept me pushing hard to stay in front all the way to the finish.

I love these little races, at the end I somehow feel closer to those I compete against. It's their existence that allows me to push to new levels of pain/speed.*

* no Richard that doesn't mean I'm going to let you win any time soon.
