6am NRR:
I wanted a hard effort early in the week to test the legs and give them a bit of a shove before Sunday's 6 hour at Castlemaine.

The plan, written in blue pen on the back of my hand but covered by my thick winter gloves, was to work turns from Mordi back to St Kilda.

That plan got a little muddled as there wasn't a clean working group, but rather a series of surges and periods of only 1-2 dudes working. I was there, being one of those 1-2 through until Black Rock. I sat in the wind for all of Rickets point only to have a few guys attack at the top, then pretty spanked I sat in up the next hill and got back to working after that.

Sadly the sprint was a wash due to commuters and traffic lights.

All up, I didn't feel like I had a heap of go in my legs, but I was still able to coax a grip of work out of them. Not bad considering it's a couple of days after a 7 hour SS effort.
