Hell Ride:
I'm not sure why this week was a small bunch, might have been the racing, might have been the risk of inclement weather, or people scared off by last week and the cycling press it received.

A slight northerly got us down south pronto, where I discovered on the rolling hills between Frankston and Mt Eliza that I'm either fat our out of shape... possibly both. I can say this with complete authority because (a) I'm always right and (b) it hurt like fuck.

In general though it was one of the better Hell Rides I've been on. The small size (at a guess 40 people) meant that no one had to surge for lights. People set up working groups and rolled turns all day long, and a bit of nice chit chat made it feel less like a race and more like a bunch training ride.

I probably could have rolled a few more turns than I did, given the thresholds a bit of a nudge, but I was too focussed on an after ride coffee and breakfast.

After breakfast I snuck in a little secret cobble training, Melburn Roubaix look out! ;)

I discovered some great little cobbled lane-ways not far from me the other day.
