FTF Winter Series - Chum Creek:
Steve has wanted to race Chum Creek since I told him about the last one, and I'm certainly not going to let him race without me. :)

On the starting line, legs feeling somewhat dead, I knew it wasn't going to be a great day. The 6 other blokes in A-grade were all Elite riders, and when the race started they showed it by gaping me before the first piece of single track.

My race then consisted of being occasionally passed by motivated b-graders, before on my 5th lap when I started to get lapped by my own grade. The winner (?) and Benny Randall slipped past me. On my last (5th) lap my motivation was nix, and I rode some pretty terrible lines.

At the end of the day I'm happy I stuck it out and completed the laps despite the complete mess my legs were in. I'm a little disappointed that my motivation dropped on my last lap, I normally pride myself on coming home strong.

Result: DFL

D: 21.5km
A: 985m

I decided against Jeff's, I'm hammered enough already.

PMPW: 93kg

TBH, I was blown away that you were even out there. I know how smoked my legs feel, and it's difficult to imaging what it might be like to have another nine or so hours in them on top of that.

My average speed is barely a slow jog. Guess who needs to spend more time hurting themselves on a bike?
