Spoke(n) Ride:
Legs are still hammered today, I had the morning free so I decided to give them a gentle spin on the Spoke(n) shop ride.

The roads wet and it was a small bunch, I was happy to sit on the front and chat with pommy John through to Mordialloc. We discussed how neither of us felt like chasing down the inevitable attack coming out of Mentone, little did he know that I was planning one of my own.

Ok, granted it was one of the slowest attacks in history, but I had a giggle trying to lead him into a stupid conversation for the sole purpose of attacking half way through it.

On the way back home no one seemed eager to hurt themselves, so we rode paired up chatting. Eventually bored of sitting in the spray off another riders wheel I moved to the front and rode with Carson Tully. He's decided that he wants to go for the World Solo 24hr championship in a couple of years, and will see what he can do for the Kona this year. I must admit I've always been fond of his attitude and I hope he goes well on this endeavour.

It's possible I'm more nervous about tomorrow's Ben Randall Invitational than I normally am about races. If half of the invited riders turn up it'll be a who's who of local, fast, XC boys out to ride trails not perfectly suited to a hard-tail. Oh well, here's hoping I don't cry too much. :)
